Victoria High School Ulverston: A-Level results

A LEVEL students at Victoria High School, in Ulverston, met up this morning to pick up their grades and plan tonight’s parties.

There were tears for Ellie Wilson, of Ulverston, who was on the phone to her parents to tell them her results.

Fortunately she was crying with joy after finding out she had achieved three top A*s grades in Biology, English Language and Maths.

Her results meet Durham University’s three A demand with ease and she will be headed there this September to study Law. The 18-year-old hopes to become a barrister.

She said: “I keep having to check my sheet of paper because I can’t believe my grades are real.

“My parents didn’t go to university, I hope I’ll make them proud.

“I’ve had no social life - my life for the last few months has consisted of working and running, but I’m really looking forward to tonight.”

Her three friends were also in a partying mood.

Charlotte Walker, 18, of Lowick, achieved an A, A and a B and is off to study Psychology in York.

Bridie Dixon, 18, of Ulverston, got a B, C and a D and will study Maths at Chester. Whitney Edmondson, 18, of Ulverston achieved an A, B and C and plans to go to Newcastle University to study Maths.

Caron Rigg, of Barrow, achieved three Cs and a D, in Business Studies, English Language, History and General Studies and is headed for Edinburgh Napier University to study Business Management and Marketing.

She said it had been a nerve-racking morning because she had been told she needed a B.

The 19-year-old found out online that the university was still offering her a place.

She said: “I only got about half an hour’s sleep last night, I’ve been so worried.

“I knew there were lots more people applying for university places this year and I worried there wouldn’t be room for me when I found I had missed a grade.

"Everyone in my house was crying this morning when we heard the good news.

&Nbsp;       On paper, this doesn't look like anything special as a lineup, but the crowd in Oshawa, ONT figures to be hotter than most.  James Storm is now believed to have not suffered a concussion, but a windpipe injury.  He was hospitalized, but is expected to work the show as he was in the ring in the afternoon.  Jackie Moore had four teeth knocked out at the house show last night and was not in good spirits.  Trigg is making his pro wrestling debut tonight.  He was said to be a very good student but he's still had minimal training and this is a big stage to be starting out on.          AAA's second biggest show of the year, Verano de Escandalo (SummerSlam) takes place in Guadalajara today headlined by Cibernetico vs. Chessman for the AAA title and Vampiro vs. Mesias in a street fight, as well as a four-way ladder match for the AAA tag titles with Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador vs. Teddy Hart & Jack Evans vs. Joe Lider & Nicho vs. Extreme Tiger & Halloween          Raw is live from Memphis on Monday night with Chris Jericho vs. C.M.
